What I Love
My family is a huge part of my life and I would consider them my biggest supporters, but also my biggest critics. I have an extraordinary mother, Kelley Bauer, and a spectacular father, Eddie Ross, and I was blessed with two bonus parents, Robert Bauer and Gina Ross. I am the younger sibling of my amazing brother, Campbell. And last but definitely not least, are our dogs, Russell, Randel, and Ally Jay. This is my support system and my rock throughout my stressful senior year. They have encouraged me to apply to the UK, which led to me receiving the Presidential Scholarship. They pushed me to apply for the Governor Scholar of Entrepreneurs, and they supported me through endless swim meets, tennis matches, and multiple half marathons. My family keeps me focused and does not allow me to do anything but my best.
Although my family is my biggest love, a close second is my love is travel. Travel brings my family and I together. I love being able to experience new places and new types of food. My favorite place to go is Tybee Island. I love the peaceful nature of the island while getting a little bit of a tan. We have a new adventure coming in the summer of 2022 when we are able to go to London and Florence, Italy.
Hobbies
I have been swimming for 10 years. I first joined when I was eight years old with my brother. Since then, I have fallen in love with the sport and even the 5:30 am practices. Swimming is not the only sport I love, but in my eighth grade year, I joined the tennis team. My grandmother, Frances Steenbergen, is the most athletic woman I know, and her favorite form of expressing her athleticism is tennis. I joined her on the court 5 years ago, and I've found it to be not only a stress reliever, but also a great way to connect with my Frennie. Since I have been swimming for over 10 years, exercise has been a huge part of my life, and in 2021 I decided to take on another heavy task, that of running my first half marathon.
